The Procedure
What happens in the clinic, how long it takes, how it feels.
How long does the procedure take?
+

The complete appointment — including preparation, topical anaesthesia, the injection itself, moulding, and post-procedure briefing — takes 60 to 90 minutes. The injection itself is 20–30 minutes.

Is the procedure painful?
+

No. Topical anaesthetic cream is applied 20–30 minutes beforehand. Most patients describe the sensation during injection as pressure rather than pain. A regional anaesthetic block is available at no additional cost if you prefer.

Will I be awake during the procedure?
+

Yes. This is an outpatient procedure under local anaesthesia only. General anaesthesia is neither required nor appropriate. You can talk, change position, and — if you find the topical anaesthesia insufficient — request additional measures at any time.

How many injections will I receive?
+

With the cannula technique, a single 21G entry point is used on the ventral shaft. Through this single entry, a blunt cannula is advanced and retracted in a radial fan pattern to distribute filler evenly. There is one skin puncture — not multiple.

Can I see the filler being opened in front of me?
+

Yes — we encourage it. Teosyal syringes are sealed, individually packaged, with batch number and expiry date visible on the packaging. You can watch each syringe being opened and note the batch numbers into your own records if you wish. This is a standard we believe every clinic should meet.

Who performs the procedure?
+

Prof. Dr. Zülfü Sertkaya, personally. Every procedure. No delegation to residents, aestheticians, or other physicians. If he is unavailable for your planned date, we reschedule rather than substitute.

Results & Expectations
How much change you can expect, how long it lasts.
How much girth increase can I expect?
+

Clinical studies report a mean flaccid girth increase of 2–2.5 cm (0.8–1.0 inch) with 15 ml of HA filler. Larger volumes produce proportionally more. Individual results depend on baseline girth, skin elasticity, and injection plane.

Does the procedure add length?
+

No. HA girth filler adds circumference, not length. If length is your primary goal, this is not the right treatment. We will say so during consultation rather than proceed and disappoint you.

How long do results last?
+

12 to 24 months. Teosyal's cross-linking density places it at the upper end of that range. Most of our patients see essentially stable results through month 12, then gradual reduction thereafter. Top-up at 12–14 months is typical for patients who want to maintain.

How soon will I see results?
+

Immediately — you see the change as soon as the procedure is complete. Mild swelling adds ~5–10% to the immediate result, so the final settled outcome at 2–4 weeks is slightly below the day-0 appearance. This settling is expected and we account for it in the volume we inject.

Will the result look natural?
+

Yes — that is the primary aesthetic goal. The cannula technique and retrograde threading produce even, smooth distribution. By 2–4 weeks, the tissue feel is indistinguishable from native tissue to touch, and the appearance is a proportionate, natural-looking enhancement.

Will my partner notice a difference?
+

Yes, visibly and tactilely. Partner-reported satisfaction in published series runs at or slightly above patient-reported satisfaction, which is unusual in aesthetic medicine.

Safety & Complications
Risks, reversibility, what happens if something goes wrong.
Is the procedure fully reversible?
+

Yes — completely. Hyaluronidase dissolves HA filler within 24–48 hours, returning tissue to baseline. Reversal is available at the clinic at no additional cost if clinically indicated.

What are the most common complications?
+

Mild asymmetry (~6%), localised bruising (1–5%), small palpable nodules (~5%), minor filler migration (~8%), and low-grade infection (~1.5%). Most are mild and fully reversible with hyaluronidase. See the full Safety page.

Does it affect erection quality?
+

No. Filler is placed in subcutaneous tissue, outside the erectile bodies. Published series using validated instruments show no statistically significant change in erection quality or function.

Does it affect sensitivity?
+

A small minority of patients report a mild reduction in flaccid sensitivity for 4–8 weeks, which resolves spontaneously. Erect sensitivity is not affected. Orgasm and ejaculation are not affected.

What happens if I am unhappy with the result?
+

Minor asymmetry within the first 30 days is corrected at no cost. If you are broadly unhappy with the result, full hyaluronidase reversal is available at no cost. If you want a higher volume, a supplementary top-up is priced at returning-patient rates.

Is vascular occlusion a risk?
+

The cannula technique was specifically developed to eliminate this risk. Peer-reviewed case series using cannula technique for penile HA have reported no cases of vascular occlusion. We keep hyaluronidase on site as an absolute safety measure.

The Filler Itself
What we inject, why, and how it compares to alternatives.
What filler do you use?
+

Teosyal, manufactured by Teoxane SA in Geneva, Switzerland. CE-marked Class III medical device. We use the body-contouring formulation with high cross-linking density. Batch numbers are recorded in your file. See the full Teosyal page.

Do you use any other filler brands?
+

No. Teosyal exclusively for penile girth enhancement. We do not use house-brand, unbranded, or generic HA. We do not use permanent fillers (PMMA, silicone) under any circumstances.

How does HA filler compare to surgery?
+

HA filler is non-surgical, immediate, reversible, and has a much gentler complication profile. Surgery is more permanent but carries surgical risks (scarring, longer recovery, higher complication rate), and the most common surgical approach — dermal matrix grafting — produces a less natural feel. For most patients, HA filler is the right first choice. See our detailed comparison article.

Is Teosyal safe for this use?
+

Teosyal is CE-marked and regulated as a Class III medical device. It has over two decades of safety data across millions of procedures in aesthetic medicine. The use in penile girth is a well-established off-label application with growing peer-reviewed evidence.

Travel & Stay in Istanbul
Logistics of coming to Turkey for treatment.
How long should I plan to stay in Istanbul?
+

A minimum of 3 nights. Most patients arrive on day 1, are treated on day 2, and fly out on day 3 or 4. The Exclusive Package includes 3 nights and is structured for a 4-night stay. You can extend any package with additional hotel nights at the booked-room rate.

Which airport do I fly into?
+

Either Istanbul Airport (IST) on the European side or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) on the Asian side. The clinic is on the Asian side (Üsküdar), so SAW is closer, but IST has more international flight options. Our private driver collects from either.

Do I need a visa?
+

Depends on your nationality. Most EU countries and the UK do not require a visa for short tourist stays. Nationals of a number of other countries can obtain an e-visa online in minutes for a small fee. Check your country's specific requirements at the official Turkish e-visa portal before you travel.

Is Istanbul safe to travel to?
+

Yes. Istanbul is a major international city with world-class infrastructure and routine tourist flow in the tens of millions annually. The areas you will be in as our patient — Üsküdar for the clinic, Eminönü/Beyoğlu/Bosphorus waterfront for dining and hotel — are all mainstream tourist areas with a continuous private driver on hand.

What if I need to extend my stay?
+

Your coordinator can extend your hotel booking at the contracted rate. Airport transfer on the new departure date is re-arranged at no change. Extra meals, tours, or activities are booked at cost.

Can someone travel with me?
+

Yes. A partner, family member, or friend is welcome. Most patients bring a companion. We can upgrade your hotel room to a double at the hotel's contract rate. Your companion's flights and meals are their own responsibility; your package transfers include companion seat.

Do you speak English? Other languages?
+

Yes. Clinical consultations with Prof. Dr. Sertkaya run in Turkish or English directly. Our coordinators can interpret in Arabic, German, Italian, and French. For other languages, we will confirm interpreter availability before you book.

Pricing & Payment
Cost, what's included, how to pay.
How much does the procedure cost?
+

From $2,200 (clinical-only package) to $5,000 (Exclusive Package with 3 nights, Radisson Blu, private yacht, and maximum filler volume). See detailed pricing for exactly what is included in each package.

Is a deposit required?
+

Yes, ~10% to secure the booking. Refundable up to 14 days before your appointment per our cancellation policy.

What payment methods do you accept?
+

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, bank transfer (EU only), and cash at the clinic. Multi-currency (USD, EUR, GBP, TRY) accepted.

Will my insurance cover this?
+

Almost certainly not. Aesthetic penile girth enhancement is a cosmetic procedure and is not typically covered by private medical insurance. If you plan to submit for claim, ask us for a treatment-specific invoice in advance.

Is financing available?
+

We do not provide financing directly. Many patients use a low-cost personal loan or credit facility in their home country. We are happy to accept payment from an agreed source; we do not require payment all-up-front.

Is there a discount for returning patients?
+

Yes. Top-up sessions at 12–24 months are priced from $1,500 for clinical visit plus 6 ml of Teosyal, rising with volume. Hotel-inclusive top-up packages come with a $300–$500 returning-patient discount.

Before the Procedure
How to prepare in the days before treatment.
What should I stop taking before the procedure?
+

Stop aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen for 7 days before unless medically essential. Stop alcohol for 48 hours. Reduce vitamin E and fish oil for 5 days. If you take a prescribed anticoagulant (e.g. warfarin, DOACs), do not stop it — discuss with us and your prescribing physician.

Should I fast before the procedure?
+

No. Eat a normal meal beforehand. This is local anaesthesia, not general.

Should I shave the area?
+

Trim or shave the day before. Avoid aggressive removal (wax, chemical depilation) in the 72 hours prior. We will tidy up the field with clippers on the day if required.

Can I have sex the night before?
+

Yes, that is fine.

After the Procedure
Recovery, activity, return to sex.
When can I have sex again?
+

Gentle resumption from day 7. Full normal activity from day 14. First session should be relaxed — no novelty, no aggressive mechanics.

When can I fly home?
+

24–48 hours after the procedure. The filler is not affected by cabin pressure. Stand up and walk every hour on long flights.

When can I return to the gym?
+

Light exercise from day 5, normal gym from day 8–10, cycling from day 14.

Can I use a penis pump or traction device after the procedure?
+

Not for at least 6 weeks. Mechanical stress can displace filler before it has fully integrated. Beyond 6 weeks, these devices are not contraindicated but we recommend moderation.

Is the 30-day WhatsApp line monitored 24/7?
+

Business hours (09:00–20:00 Istanbul time, GMT+3), 7 days a week, with median response under 2 hours. Outside business hours, urgent concerns still receive a reply within an hour or two. Routine questions are answered the following morning.

Privacy & Discretion
How we protect your identity and records.
Are my records confidential?
+

Yes — treated as strictly confidential medical records. Communication runs through encrypted channels (WhatsApp, secure email). Invoices list the corporate trading name only and do not describe the treatment unless you request otherwise for insurance purposes.

Will you publish my before/after photographs?
+

Never without your explicit written consent. Most patients decline; that is entirely their right. Clinical photographs are kept on the medical record for your reference and any future review; they are not published or shared.

Do I share the waiting room with other patients?
+

No. Appointments are spaced so international patients do not overlap. You are shown directly to a private consulting suite on arrival.

Consent & Decision-Making
How to decide, and how to not.
How should I decide whether this is right for me?
+

Free consultation first. Read everything on this website. Ask every question you have. Then take at least a week to decide before you pay a deposit. Do not decide under time pressure or promotional urgency — any clinic that rushes you is a clinic to avoid.

What if I change my mind before the procedure?
+

Cancel per the published refund policy — more than 14 days before is a full deposit refund. You can also postpone rather than cancel, and your deposit holds as credit for up to 12 months.

What if I change my mind after the procedure?
+

Hyaluronidase reversal is available at no additional cost. The tissue returns to baseline within 24–48 hours of the reversal injection.

Contraindications
When we will decline to treat.
Is there an age limit?
+

We treat adult patients from age 21. We do not treat minors under any circumstances. Upper age limit is determined by general health, not chronological age.

What medical conditions would prevent treatment?
+

Active infection in the treatment area, active penile dermatological disease, uncontrolled bleeding disorders, ongoing essential anticoagulation, known HA/hyaluronidase allergy, active psychiatric/stress state, and body dysmorphic disorder. See the full list on Safety & Risks.
